The Artologist Gallery: The Haven for the Modern and Contemporary Arts in the Philippines
Ron de Castro is not a greenhorn when it comes to arts and gallery management. At the tender age of 26, he used to own an art gallery in the 1990s. His wife, Bambi, has an extensive business background, marketing and organizing events. With Ron’s deep love for the arts and culture and Bambi’s passion to business, had been proven a perfect match. Thus, The Artologist was born in 2013 and had its first home was in Eisenhower Street, Greenhills, in San Juan City.
The Artologist has become the haven for new, emerging and midcareer artists. More than a gallery, The Artologist is a place of discovery, of development, and advancement of an individual through arts.
Its walls have become the doorway of opportunities for new and budding artists. Its halls have become the witness of the progression of new and exciting forms, styles, and genre of arts. Since arts soothe the soul, stimulates creativity, and somehow help people to cope with difficult times and released suppressed emotions and memories, The Artologist somehow has become a place where you someone can heal his or her wounded spirit, by simply looking at the framed works of its artists.
Prior to the gallery, the husband and wife team operated three retail stores in Las Vegas and had been exposed to the furniture market there by participating in trade shows.Using the sound principles of marketing and doing business, combined with love, passion, appreciation, and dedication to heart, it is not unusual for The Artologist to grow bigger and has become well known in the art scence. Since the gallery has been growing, it has been relocated to a bigger and better place in Xavier Street, Greenhills and has opened a new branch in Tiendesitas, Pasig.
